On these pages you'll find some typical questions relating to baby
shower etiquette which we have answered and which may be of
some help to you when considering or planning a shower.
Shower Etiquette
I'm not sure who I should invite to the baby shower;
who would normally attend a shower?
Grandmothers of the baby and any other female family members are
traditionally invited to a baby shower but after that anyone that
you wish including friends of the new mother, any family members,
neighbors, coworkers etc.
It would be as well to clarify with the guests that no additional
friends should be invited by them.
You should also decide whether or not you wish children to be invited.
It may seem ironic, but many people feel that it is not a good idea
to have children at a baby shower due to likely disruption and even
possible damage to furniture and so forth.
Unless the shower is a 'surprise shower' you should check the guest
list with the expectant mother for her approval.
